Ethelyn has been recognized by her clients and former employees for her ability to inspire them to achieve new levels of performance and succeed in their career pursuits. Further, Ethelyn follows the adage, “live what you love,” and focuses her time and talent on helping people succeed in their college and career pursuits.
Ethelyn devotes her time to helping job seekers create powerful resumes and cover letters that will stand out from all the others. Those resumes highlight the applicant’s strengths and unique qualifications. With a focus on the applicant’s career interests and skill set, Ethelyn provides one-on-one coaching to individuals, preparing them to ace their job interviews.
Ethelyn offers free workshops and provides coaching and mentoring to high school and college students to improve their interview and management skills — helping them secure acceptance to college, graduate school and/or the job of their choice. Her experience as an alumna interviewer for Columbia College and School of Engineering, for more than 25 years, made Ethelyn uniquely qualified to author Perfect Prep: An Insider’s Guide to Acing Your College Interview. Her second book, Perfect Prep 2: A Guide to Acing Your ‘First’ Job Interview, which gives college students and others the tools they need to succeed in the job interview process, is in development.
With a desire to give back, Ethelyn volunteers her time at Jersey City’s York Street Project, contributing her skills in support of the organization’s objective to provide the tools women and children need to begin their journey toward a life of self-sufficiency. Ethelyn works with women to create powerful resumes and cover letters and to improve their interview skills.
Ethelyn Geschwind is a seasoned business executive with more than two decades of leadership and mentoring experience. Before retiring from Verizon Communications in 2017, Ethelyn served as a director of Strategic Sourcing, one of many positions she held during her 22 years with the company in both its landline and wireless businesses. Before joining Verizon, Ethelyn worked for Sanofi Winthrop Pharmaceuticals and, prior to that, for Colgate Palmolive.
Ethelyn holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and an MBA in marketing from NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Ethelyn lives in Maplewood, New Jersey, with her teenage son.
